Day two and two more teams are eliminated from Valve’s third Dota Major. Alliance went down 2-1 against NàVi in the legendary “el classico” match. It looked like the series was going in the Swedes’ way with a game one victory and a quick massive lead in game two, but NàVi fought to the last bit and managed to take game two when it nearly seemed impossible. NàVi were able to easily take game three blowing past Alliance on the momentum that they had from the previous game.
The other lower bracket game consisted of major favorites, Liquid and a struggling compLexity squad. CompLexity kept it close for some time in game one but team Liquid were able to take the first match in the series. Game two was a different story as Liquid pummeled compLexity and were victorious before the 30-minute mark.
In the upper bracket Fnatic took down LGD-Gaming besides the fact that the Chinese took the first game in the matchup. The series was back and forth and heavily contested by both teams but Fnatic were able to win the clutch moments. The other upper bracket game was between Newbee and the last hope for NA, Digital Chaos. DC lost the series in three games that were all heavily one-sided. Newbee blew out DC in games one and three and the North American’s only win was in game two on the back of a w33 invoker.
