G2 have replaced their current long-term in-game leader Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans for LDLC White's Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro.
Long time Counter-Strike leader and French super-star Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans has been relieved of his duties at G2, the organisation has announced. The French leader has played for various line-ups such as G2, Titan and VeryGames; however, now the 25-year-old will look for a new home or potentially hang up the mouse. However, there have been rumors that the Belgian will form new LDLC lineup with EnVyUs' coach, Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez.
The recent changes come after the team was unable to surpass the group stage at MLG Columbus finishing 9-12. Under the leadership of Droolans, the team has had a rocky start to 2016 with two 5th-6th finishes at SL i-League StarSeries XIV Finals and GEC 2016, and third place at ESL Expo Barcelona Invitational. Now the team will change the leadership role as Richard "shox" Papillon will take the helm of Doorlans' role as in-game leader. In addition, G2 sign young french prospect Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro from LDLC White.
The number three ranked team in France, LDLC White, has been a hot spot for the French scene as two players have been called up to compete at the pro level. Last month, EnVyUs signed Timothée "DEVIL" Démolon to replace Fabien ''kioShiMa'' Fiey and now G2 follow the same foot steps signing Pianaro. The 19-year-old has been regarded as one of the finest talents in the French Counter-Strike scene, earning a spot on a top team as Pianaro has a desire to win and improve his game.
Pianaro's statement on singing with G2:
“It is with a great motivation and desire to win that I join G2 today. I feel incredibly blessed to have been approached by this team, and I will prove that I can live up to their expectations. I want to start by thanking Team LDLC for all they have given me during this past year playing under their colors. I would particularly like to thank my former teammates, without them none of this would be possible and they have all become my good friends. I cannot thank them enough for the opportunity they gave to me two years ago, and I wish them the best for the future.
“I feel that this is unreal, going from the French subtop to one of the best teams in the world. The chance I’ve been given is just incredible, and I want to thank everyone for the confidence they have put in me. I intend to give 2000% to prove my value, to advance and reach the goals of the team, and to together win the most prestigious competitions.”
The team will debut the lineup at the first DreamHack Masters tournament in Malmö, Sweden, which is set to start in less than three days, on April 12, and will run until April 17. G2 replaced Fnatic's spot as Olof "olofmesiter" Kajbjer was unable to play due to a nagging wrist injury. G2 will be alongside Natus Vincere, CLG and GODSENT.
G2 now have the following lineup:
Richard "shox" Papillon
Cédric "RpK" Guipouy
Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux
Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom
Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro
